Govt Allows Eid Holidaymakers to Move in Private Vehicles

The government has allowed holidaymakers to travel in 'private' vehicles to visit their village home to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr in the midst of the coronavirus crisis.

The public transport service will, however, remain closed.

Following a verbal "high-up" directive on Thursday, the police removed its checkpoint from various Dhaka entry points.

The additional Police Inspector General Mallik Fakhrul Islam confirmed the news.
