PM Urges All to Be Imbued with Essence of Eid-ul-Azha

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today called on the countrymen to be imbued with the spirit of sacrifice of Eid-ul-Azha in order to engage in welfare-oriented activities aimed at establishing discrimination-free, healthy, stable and peaceful Bangladesh.

In a message on the eve of the Holy Eid-ul-Azha, she said that the unique example given by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) by sacrificing his most precious thing to the satisfaction of Allah will be imitated and followed forever, reports BSS.

Through the festival, competent Muslims create a bond of solidarity and dignity among the human race by distributing the meat of their sacrificial animals to relatives and neighbors, she said.

"Eid-ul-Azha teaches us tolerance, compassion, dedication and fraternity. Let us make Bangladesh healthy, stable and safe, free from bigotry, engage in welfare-oriented activities and understand the meaning of Eid-ul-Azha, "said the Prime Minister.

This time, she said, the Eid-ul-Azha is observed in a crisis period because the coronavirus has caused the whole planet stagnate.

The Prime Minister said that her government is taking the requisite steps to resolve the crisis and expand support to the people.

“Allah tests patience of human being in crisis. During this time, we will have to cooperate with each other having endless patience with tolerant and sympathetic mindsets,” she said.

The Prime Minister expressed her sincere gratitude to health staff, physicians , nurses, teachers, judiciary, law enforcement agencies, security forces, banks and cleaners, among others who have been delivering continuous services to citizens throughout this crisis era.

In fact, she encouraged all to slaughter their livestock in specified areas in compliance with the safety guidelines.

The prime minister also called upon all to celebrate the festival staying at respective homes to check the spread of the deadly virus and offer special prayers to the almighty for freeing mankind from the pandemic.

On that day, she invited the countrymen and Muslims of the world and hoped that, like every year, the Eid would offer peace and joy to everyone.

Sheik Hasina prayed to God for the continuous stability, development and prosperity of the country and the Islamic Ummah on Holy Day.
