Boat Capsizes in Kishoreganj: 3 Bodies Recovered

Three bodies were recovered on Sunday morning after a boat capsized in Dhanu River at Chowganga Union in Maguri area under Itna Upazila Kshoreganj on Sunday evening.

The deceased were identified as Hiramoni, the 5th daughter of Barju Mia, from the Maguri village of Upazila, Sumaiya, 18 years old, the wife of Md Mokhlesh Mia, and the boatman Hasan Ali, 70 years old, from the same town.

According to locals, a boat carrying some passengers capsized in the Dhanu River got a gust of wind when some people were returning home from Kurshi Village, leaving three of them missing.

Local people rescued eight passengers of the boat alive after the incident.

Mohammad Morshed, officer-in-charge (OC) of Itna Police Station, confirmed the matter.
