While the government today agreed to release Khaleda Zia for six months on humanitarian grounds and despite her age, BNP has asked party members and activists and their affiliate bodies not to assemble at the Sheik Mujib Medical University in Bangabandhu where she is under treatment.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made this evening's call in a press release after a meeting of party members and activists inside and outside BSMMU, soon after having details that Khaleda Zia would be released.

He asked his party men from their respective places to give prayers to fix the current situation.

Earlier, at a press conference in his Gulshan residence, Law Minister Anisul Huq said the government today agreed to suspend the chairperson of BNP for six months.

The government suspended her sentence as per section 401 of Criminal Code of Procedure, he told the reporters at a press briefing.

But Khaleda, the county's former prime minister, has to remain home in Dhaka and get her care here, the law minister stated.
