DGHS Get Medical Supply from WFP, Australian High Commission

The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) and the Australian High Commission on Monday together gave over some clinical supplies to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

The gear, involving 150,000 goggles, 80,892 N95 respirator veils and 65,000 face shields, was supported by the Australian Government and will be utilized in the COVID-19 reaction. 

''The Australian High Commission acknowledges the devotion of bleeding-edge health workers and the difficulties they face. We are happy that, through WFP, we have had the option to help the Bangladesh Government in the battle against COVID-19,'' said the Australian High Commissioner, Jeremy Bruer. 

Until this point, Bangladesh has recorded a sum of 1,37,787 number COVID-19 cases, including in excess of 1,170 doctors, 1,120 attendants and 200 wellbeing technologists. 

''This supply comes at a crucial time, particularly as the quantity of COVID-19 is seeing new stature in Bangladesh. We need to thank the Australian Government and WFP for their proceeded with help,'' said Prof Dr Abul Kalam Azad, Director General, DGHS. 

Richard Ragan, WFP Representative and Country Director in Bangladesh said health workers are at the bleeding edge of the COVID-19 reaction. 

"They need the correct supplies to keep themselves safe and play out their duty viably." 

Notwithstanding giving food help to powerless families, WFP is furnishing the Government of Bangladesh with strategic help to check the spread of the infection.
