BNP Chief's Advisor M A Haque Dies with Cold-Related Problems

Muhammad Abdul Haque, advisor to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and former president of the party's Sylhet District Unit, died in a hospital in Sylhet on Friday of pneumonia and other cold-related problems.

The media wing chair of BNP, Sayrul Kabir Khan, stated the matter to the media.

The BNP leader breathed his last breath at North East Medical College and Dakkhin Surma Hospital around 10:30 a.m., said Dr. Shahrier Hossain Chowdhury, Managing Director of Hospital.

The BNP leader had been suffering from pneumonia for the last few days and was taken to the hospital a few days ago.

Later, he was shifted to the ICU of the hospital on Wednesday where he died on Friday.

A medical team took his samples on Thursday for Covid-19 test.

"On suspicion of Covid-19, his swab samples were collected and sent to the laboratory on Thursday (2 July)," said Sayrul Kabir Khan.
