Clouds have been floating in the sky of Dhaka since morning, even though it rained in different parts of the country yesterday, people felt discomfort in the scorching heat.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), the country's Met Office, forecasted rain and thundershowers with temporary gusty winds of up to 60 kmph are likely to occur over nine regions of the country by noon.
This was informed in the weather bulletin for the inland river ports of the country till 1 pm on Thursday (June 20).
It said that temporary gusty or squally winds at a speed of 45-60 kmph are likely to flow over Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bogra, Mymensingh, Tangail, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Cumilla and Sylhet regions.
The river ports in these areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal no. 1.
Meanwhile, the latest weather bulletin given on Wednesday night said that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds are likely to occur at most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Besides, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country.
