The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has advised hoisting the local cautionary signal number three at the country's four seaports. This information was released in a special bulletin by Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik, a meteorologist from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, on Saturday.
The bulletin states that the seaports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been instructed to display the local cautionary signal number three. Additionally, all fishing boats and trawlers in the northern Bay of Bengal have been advised to seek safe shelter and remain there until further notice.
It also mentions that temporary gusty winds with light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur in most parts of the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. In some places, moderate to heavy, and even very heavy, rainfall may occur. Daytime temperatures across the country may rise slightly, while nighttime temperatures may decrease slightly.
The bulletin further states that the land depression currently located in the Barishal and adjacent areas has moved slightly northwestward and was positioned over Jessore and nearby regions as of 6:00 AM today. It may continue to move northwestward. Due to its influence, deep convective clouds are forming over the northern Bay of Bengal and coastal areas of Bangladesh. Squally winds may blow over coastal areas, the northern Bay of Bengal, and the seaports of Bangladesh.
