Due to the active southwest monsoon, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in three divisions of the country over the next two days, according to the Meteorological Department. Additionally, there is a risk of landslides in some hilly areas of the Chattogram division due to heavy rainfall.
This information was provided in the weather forecast released on Tuesday evening (October 1).
The forecast indicates that due to the active monsoon, parts of Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions may experience heavy (44-88 mm/24 hours) to very heavy (up to 289 mm/24 hours) rainfall from 6 a.m. on Wednesday (October 2) over the next 48 hours.
It has been reported that the southwest monsoon remains active and is expected to last through the first half of the month.
Meteorologist Hafizur Rahman mentioned that the rainfall may lead to a decrease in temperature. However, there is less likelihood of rainfall in most areas of the northern region, though isolated showers may occur.
