Hurricane "Milton" could become the most devastating storm in the past 100 years. It is expected to make landfall in Florida on Wednesday night, October 9, local time.

This information was reported by the BBC.

Currently, Milton is located 520 miles southwest of Tampa, Florida, and has already intensified into a Category 5 hurricane. Authorities are issuing various warnings to ensure people understand its power.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service, Milton could generate waves 10 to 15 feet high along coastal areas. It may also lead to heavy rainfall and flash flooding in central Florida. If the storm continues on its current path, it could be the most destructive hurricane in the last century. Milton remains a significant threat to the Florida coastline.

U.S. President Joe Biden has warned that Milton is expected to be one of the most severe storms to hit the United States in the past century.

He urged Florida residents to evacuate their homes and seek safe shelter, stating, "This is now a matter of life and death."

Meanwhile, Tampa's Mayor Jane Castor has ordered mandatory evacuations for everyone on the west coast, resulting in heavy traffic congestion on the roads.

For those who are not evacuating, Mayor Castor warned, "If you do not follow the evacuation orders, you will surely die. People must leave. To be honest, I have never seen anything like this in my life."
