The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has announced a ‘Martyrs' March’ event to be held across the country on Thursday (Sept 5) in remembrance of those injured or killed in the student protests.

Sarjis Alam, one of the movement's coordinators, made the announcement during a press conference held at the Teachers-Students Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University on Wednesday (Sept 4).

Sarjis said that the march would commemorate the victims of the student movement, with the central procession set to begin at 3 pm from the Raju Memorial Sculpture.

The march will proceed through New Market, Manik Mia Avenue, Karwan Bazar and Shahbagh before culminating at the Central Shaheed Minar.

Another coordinator of the movement, Abu Bakr Majumdar, emphasised that the student movement would work towards ensuring national security but stressed that the law must not be taken into individual hands.

He highlighted the importance of ensuring justice through law enforcement agencies.

He also said that those involved in the killings would not be spared.

"We are forming a team to identify those responsible for the murders," he said, adding that the future of Bangladesh would be shaped according to the will of the people.

The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement aims to reorganise nationwide with the objective of combating extortion and corruption.
