Suhrawardy College to Remain Shut

Class and academic activities of Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College will remain suspended tomorrow as well.

The college announced the suspension on Sunday (November 24) citing “unavoidable reasons”.

But hundreds of its students thronged the area this morning (November 25) ignoring the closure. They joined those from seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University before they going on a rampage at Demra’s Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College.

Some Mollah College students attacked Dhaka National Medical College, Kabi Nazrul College and Suhrawardy College on Sunday while protesting against the death of a fellow student at National Medical College.

Suhrawardy College’s administration said five vehicles, including an ambulance and private cars, were vandalised. Important items and money were looted.
