Publishers Propose to Begin Book Fair on Feb 18

The Bangla Academy on Sunday took the decision to hold the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2021 like previous years.

Publishers' associations made a proposal to the Bangla Academy to begin the month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2021 on 18 February.

Confirming the matter, Monirul Haque, executive director of Bangladesh Gyan and Srijanshil Prokashok Samity, said the publishers have given proposal to hold the book fair from 18 February to 17 March next year.

Earlier on Sunday, Bangla Academy backed off from its previous decision to hold the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2021 virtually and agreed to organise it like previous years in the face of a strong protest by publishers.
