Bangla Academy DG Habibullah Sirajee Laid to Rest

Bangla Academy Director General Habibullah Sirajee has laid to eternal rest at the Azimpur graveyard in the capital.

The process of burying him at Azimpur graveyard started after 11:00 am on Tuesday.

Earlier, the body of Habibullah Sirajee was taken to Bangla Academy premises at 9:50 am.

People from all walks of life, including family members, paid last respects to Habibullah Sirajee by placing flowers at his coffin, after the first janaza at 10:00 am.

Secretary and Acting Director-General of the Academy AHM Lokman paid homage on behalf of Bangla Academy at the coffin of poet Habibullah Sirajee.

After paying homage at Bangla Academy, the body of Habibullah Sirajee was taken to Azimpur graveyaed around 10:45am. He was buried there after the second janaza.

The Bangla Academy Director General passed away on Monday at a city hospital in the capital at the age of 72 while undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Specialised Hospital.
