Writer Dilara Hashem Passes Away

Dilara Hashem, eminent writer of Bangladesh, has passed away in Washington, United States. She was 86, reports media.

She breathed her last on Saturday afternoon (local time).

Dilara, also a journalist, was born on August 21, 1936, in Jessore, East Bengal, now Bangladesh. She obtained graduation in 1956 from the English department at Dhaka University. Then, she joined the then Radio Pakistan.

She was a Bangla news presenter for a long time. Later, she joined as news presenter at Dhaka Radio and Television.
