Three motorcyclists killed in road mishap

Three people died following a collision between a  motorbike and a bus on in Afania area of Noakhali's Sonaimuri upazila on Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Md Tipu, son of Rafiq Ullah of Nazirpur village, Jabed, son of Delwar Hossain, and Harun, son of Shah Alam of Alipur village of districts Begumganj upazila.

Abdus Samad, officer-in-charge of Sonaimuri Police Station, said a passenger bus of Ekushey Paribahan collided with the motorcycle around 10:30pm leaving three of four motorcyclists dead on the spot and another severely injured.

The severely injured Masuk was taken to Noakhali General Hospital while the bodies were kept at Sonaimuri Upazila Health Complex, the OC added.

Police seized the bus and the motorbike while the driver managed to escape.
