Govt approves 64 parking spots in Dhaka: Quader

Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) has approved 64 parking spots in the city to sort out huge parking space crisis.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today revealed the information after the 13th board meeting of DTCA at Nagar Bhaban.

Drive against illegal easy-bikes, battery-run rickshaws and non-motorized vehicles have lost momentum due to transport crises in the city, he said.

Both the north and south city corporations will intensify its drive against illegal occupation of footpaths and such vehicles, Quader added.

The meeting also decided to shift all inter district bus terminals of Dhaka city upon ensuring alternative places outside Dhaka.

Both Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Huque and Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sayeed Khokon, Narayanganj city mayor Selina Hayat Ivy, Gazipur mayor Md Jahangir Alam and Narayanganj-2 lawmaker Nazrul Islam Babu were present at the meeting among others.
