The Health Service Division has issued an order to open "isolation unit" as a precaution against Coronavirus to all public hospital authorities across the country.
The virus has already killed over 80 people in China in the last few days.
Director-General of Health Service (DGHS) Dr. Adul Kalam Azad gave instructions at today's conference room of the Health Division in Mohakhali, Dhaka, during a video conference on Coronavirus with national directors and civil surgeons.
DGHS Information Officer Sheikh Akkas Ali said the conference held an in-depth discussion on the Coronavirus and ordered all-out preparation to prevent the virus as a precaution, although no people were found to have been infected with Coronavirus in the country.
Primarily, the “isolation units” will be opened at all the Sadar hospitals and medical college hospitals, he added.
Besides, Abul Kalam asked the officials and authorities concerned to ensure the medical test of all the passengers and tourists coming through port and seaport from different countries.
Central Hubei province is at the heart of China’s new virus Conora’s outbreak, which has killed at least 81 people and infected more than 2,700 people across the country and has spread overseas, including Thailand, the United States, and Australia.
