College Student Suffering From Fever, Cold Dies in Satkhira

A college student suffering from fever, cold and respiratory complications died early Friday at his own home in the village of Narayanpur in Sadar Upazila, Satkhira.

The deceased was identified as Hasan Ali, 20, a 2nd-year student at Jhaudang College and the son of Baharul Islam in the village.

Irad Ali, a member of the Balli Union under Ward No 6, said Hasan has been suffering from cough, cold, respiratory problems over the last 6-7 days.

Hasan's family sources said he was offered medicine by a village doctor, but it didn't work and he breathed his last around 12:30 a.m.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Hossain Shafayet said the medical team was sent to the site, but they found that he had no coronavirus-like symptoms.  

Samples of the survivor will be sent to the IEDCR, he said, if the family agrees.

In addition, 49 more overseas returnees were kept in quarantine at home in the district over the last 24 hours. As a result, a total of 2,893 people have been kept in-home quarantine in the district so far, while 696 got released from home quarantine.
