Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has said effort is going on to bring back Bangabandhu’s self-confessed killer Rashed Chowdhury to Bangladesh from the USA in the current ‘Mujib Year’.
Dr Abdul Momen revealed this information while addressing a discussion at National Press Club in the capital on Monday.
The foreign minister said, “Bangabandhu killer Rashed Chowdhury has become an immigrant in the USA providing false information in 2006. We already have informed the USA in this regard. Hope, the verdict on death sentence of Rashed Chowdhury will be executed bringing him back to the country this year, the year of birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”
Dr Momen said, “Five self-confessed killers of Bangbandhu are currently staying abroad. Of them, we have two persons’ information. We have also got information of another one named Nur Chowdhury, who is now living in Canada. Our discussion is also on to bring him back in the country.”
“Effort is going on to bring all fugitive killers of Bangabandhu back in the country and none will be spared,” he said.
