Bangladesh Railway is all set to resume selling of its tickets from the counter from September 12, after a long hiatus of five and a half months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A notification signed by Deputy Director Md Nasir Hasan Khan of Bangladesh Railway disclosed the matter on Monday.

Each coach is carrying a limited number of passengers – fifty percent of its capacity.

From Sep 12, fifty percent of total saleable tickets will be sold from the counter maintaining social distancing, Nasir Khan said adding the rest of the tickets will be sold through mobile app and online.

However, BR will continue to operate trains at half capacity, he added.

Although BR resumed the operation of passenger trains from May 31, it decided not to sell tickets at stations to maintain health safety guidelines.
