Bangladeshis Capable of Overcoming All Hurdles: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said Monday that the people of Bangladesh have the capacity to conquer all kinds of hurdles.

"With the cooperation of everyone, we are moving the country forward. I thank the people of the country (in this regard). We could have done a lot more work if coronavirus hadn't arrived. Nevertheless, the people of Bangladesh have the potential to resolve all the obstacles, whatever they might be," she said.

The Prime Minister said this at the regular meeting of the Cabinet, joining Ganobahban from her official residence, practically when her cabinet colleagues wished her a birthday.

Today is the 73rd birthday of the Prime Minister and the President of the Bangladesh Awami League.

Sheikh Hasina said she is trying heart and soul to turn the country into the 'Sonar Bangla' (Golden Bengal) of the Bangabandhu Sheik Mujibur Rahman Nation Father.

"The people of Bangladesh could walk in the world arena with their heads ever high, nothing more than that," she said.

Sheikh Hasina, Bangabandhu's eldest child, said it was a tough job to work for the country after losing every family member, including her parents.

"But above all, I thought one thing (that) I must do something for the country and the people that my father loved so passionately. His dream must not remain unfulfilled, I must make his dream come true," she said.

She expressed her gratitude towards the people of the country and sought their blessings.

"I seek your blessings so that I can live with honour as long as I live and the people of the country get benefit from me and do well," she said.
