N95 Mask Scam: Razzaq Put on 5-Day Remand

A Dhaka court today placed Chairman of JMI Hospital Requisite Manufacturing Ltd Abdur Razzak on a 5-day remand in a case filed for supplying poor quality masks, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and other medical equipment to the government.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge KM Imrul Kayesh passed the order on Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, a team of Anti- Corruption Commission arrested Razzak from the capital after filing of the case.

On July 8, the anti-graft body quizzed Razzaq for about six hours to gather more information regarding the issue.

The ACC summoned Razzak to appear before it for interrogation over the allegations on July 1.
