2 Youths Die in Cox’s Bazar Landslide

Two young men were killed in landslide in Ramu Upazila of Cox’s Bazar early Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Ali Ahmmed, 35, son of late Md Hoshne and Mujibar Rahman, 32, son of Md Kalu, both of them hailing from Ukhiarghona school para area of the Upazila.

According to local sources, a group of workers, including the two youths, went to the Ukhiarghona area of the Kawarkhop Union to cut the hills at 2:00 a.m. and unexpectedly collapsed, leaving the young men dead on the spot.

Ajmiruzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of the Ramu Police Station, said the bodies had been brought to the police station. Required legal action will be taken in this respect.

Ramu Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Pranoy Chakma went to the spot on Wednesday morning.
