PM Mourns Death of Eminent Lawyer Barrister Rafique-ul-Huq

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the demise of Barrister Rafique-ul-Huq, the Supreme Court's senior lawyer, reports BSS.

The premier said in a message of condolence, "Barrister Rafique-ul-Huq used to provide advice on important constitutional issues."

The Prime Minister recalled with due gratitude the role of Barrister Rafique as he came forward to fight a legal battle to free her from prison in a false case following her arrest by the then caretaker government in 2007.

She prayed for the departed soul's eternal peace and expressed condolences to the bereaved members of the family.

Barrister Rafique breathed his last at 8:30 in the morning while undergoing treatment at ICU in Ad-Deen Hospital here. He was 85
