All Shops, Commercial Hubs to Be Shut by 8

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has directed for the closure of all shops and markets by 8pm to ensure discipline and cleanliness in the city.

He made the call while inaugurating the 'Sheikh Hasina Academic Building' of Sher-e-Bangla Women's College at Tikatuli in Dhaka on Wednesday.

"We want to bring the city under proper management. We want to close all shops, markets and establishments by 8pm. In the other countries of the world, all shops and establishments are shut down after a certain time. If the shops and businesses of the city are closed by 8 pm, we will be able to perform other duly activities.''

''If shops are closed within 8pm, capital will be free from traffic jams and people be able to spend time for family and children''- he added.
