Bangladesh to Receive COVID Vaccine by 25 January: Beximco

Beximco Pharmaceuticals will bring the first shipment of Oxford and AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine - produced at the Serum Institute of India in Bangladesh between 21-25 January.

Nazmul Hasan Papon, managing director of Beximco Pharmaceuticals confirming the matter to media said, " 50 lakh vaccines could come to the country in the first shipment."

He added that after the first shipment, 50 lakh Covid vaccines will come to the country every month, reports media.

A tripartite agreement was signed with the Serum Institute between the Government of Bangladesh and Beximco Pharmaceuticals in the first week of November. 

Beximco will hand over the Serum Institute vaccine to the government of Bangladesh. 

Meanwhile, Health Minister Zahid Maleque will brief on Monday. There may be information on the vaccine.

It could no be confirmed to confirm at the official level till Friday exactly when, how and to what extent Bangladesh will start receiving the covid vaccine from India.

Nazmul Hasan has previously reported that seven vehicles have already been imported to transport the Covid vaccine. And it will bring specialized, cool boxes. In Dhaka, a central warehouse has been set up.
