Students of 7 DU Affiliated Colleges Block Nilkhet Intersection

Students of seven colleges affiliated with the Dhaka University (DU) on Wednesday morning blocked the busy Nilkhet and New Market roads in Dhaka protesting postponement of all ongoing examinations.

At 9:00 am, the agitating students blocked the road and prevented vehicular traffic, leading to a major gridlock in the city, reports media.

The students vowed to continue their protests until the authorities changed their decision.

Earlier on Tuesday night, they took to the street after the Dhaka University authorities decided in a meeting with the principals of the colleges to postpone the exams.

The postponement came after the government announced to reopen the public university on May 24 and the dormitories on May 17.
