Pushing off Dumb Woman from Bus: Driver, Helper Remanded

A Dhaka court on Wednesday granted a two-day remand for the driver and the helper of the N Mullick Paribahan over the incident of pushing off a speech-impaired woman passenger for her failure to pay fare of the bus in Keraniganj of Dhaka.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Begum Fairuj Tasnim issued the remand order against the bus driver Md Sabuj, 25 and helper Md Nahid, 19.

The accused were arrested from Kutiamara area of Keraniganj on Tuesday night.

The incident took place in Rohitpur Bazar area of Keraniganj on March 7 and came to light through a video that went viral on social media platforms.
