In the last 24 hours, 10 more patients have died in the
corona unit of Rajshahi Medical College (RMCH) Hospital due to coronavirus
infection and with its symptoms. Of these, three died of corona and the other
seven died with symptoms.
The deputy director of the hospital Dr Saiful Ferdous
confirmed the matter and said that among the dead in the last 24 hours, seven
were from Rajshahi, one from Chapainawabganj, one from Natore and one from
Naogaon.
He said 44 people have been admitted to RMCH in the last 24
hours and 31 have returned home after getting well. Besides, 164 people are
admitted with coronavirus positive and 194 people are admitted with symptoms.
In contrast to 309 beds, the total number of admitted patients is 358.
He added that in the last 24 hours, the corona of 77 patients
has been identified from the sample of 188 patients in the PCR machine of the
hospital. On the other hand, in the PCR machine of the medical college, in the
sample test of 369 people, the presence of coronavirus was found in the body of
116 people.
The coronavirus infection rate in Rajshahi is 41.5 percent, in
Natore 12.5 percent and in Chapainawabganj 17.45 percent.
Meanwhile, as the COVID-19 infection situation has not
improved, the deadline for all-out lockdown in Rajshahi city has been extended
to June 24. The decision was taken at a meeting on the Coronavirus situation at
the Circuit House at 8 pm on Wednesday (June 16).
