Covid-19 Claims More 10 Lives at RMCH

Ten more Covid-19 patients died in the past 24 hours at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital on Friday, according to the district's health officials, reports media.

"Of the deceased, three were Covid-19 positive, six had Covid-like-symptoms and the remaining one died after recovering from Covid-19," said Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani, director of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH).

Of them, five were from Rajshahi district and others from Chapainawabganj.

With 46 fresh cases, a total of 365 people are currently undergoing Covid treatment at the hospital while 19 people are in ICU.

On Friday, 187 samples were tested in the hospital's lab and 375 in the PCR lab. Of these, 50 people were identified as Covid positive in the RMCH Lab and 142 in the PCR Lab.

As per the test ratio of the samples, the infection rate in Naogaon district is 42.25 percent which is the highest in the division.

Apart from this, the infection rate in Rajshahi was 30.05 percent.

Overall, 236 people died at RMCH as of Saturday.
