Ongoing restrictions to curb the coronavirus pandemic would be
extended further. Restrictions remain after July 14. However, considering
Eid-ul-Azha and the economic aspects of the country, the sternness of the
restrictions somewhat will be reduced. A final decision will be taken on Monday
night.
State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said
this while talking to reporters at the Secretariat on Sunday (July 11).
"We are monitoring the Covid-19 situation now,"
the state minister said. The way the coronavirus has spread is alarming. The
restrictions from July 1 to July 14 are being strictly observed. This time and
the next time are important for us.
He further said that since there is Eid, Sacrificial Animals
markets (Qurbani Haat) will be arranged. Our main goal is how to control the
infection by managing these two events. It remains to be seen how we can
regulate the haats. However, Haats should be placed in open space. Hygiene rules must be
followed at the market. The way to enter and exit the market must be separate.
He further said that Covid-19 deaths and infections should
be kept in mind. So we request people not to come to the market in a folk.
Earlier in the afternoon, State Minister for Shipping Khalid
Mahmud Chowdhury said the ongoing restrictions could be further extended on the
advice of the National Technical Advisory Committee.
