With Eid-ul-Azha
looming, the government has instructed to strictly follow the hygiene rules,
including wearing masks at all times, from Thursday (July 15th) to eight days
of relaxed restrictions. At the same time, instructions have been given to
avoid social, political and religious ceremonies where public gatherings are
held at this time.
The
directive was issued by the Cabinet Division on Wednesday (July 14) to
observe hygiene including wearing a mask.
It said that
even though the previous restrictions were relaxed today (Wednesday) from
midnight to 6 am on July 23, all activities should be carried out strictly
following the hygiene rules including wearing masks at all times to prevent the
spread of coronavirus-borne diseases (Covid-19).
During this time, people go to tourist centers, resorts, community centers, and recreation centers and gather in public. Such social events such as wedding ceremonies (walima), birthdays, picnics, parties and political and religious ceremonies should be avoided.
With the
holy Eid-ul-Azha in mind, the government has relaxed the ongoing restrictions
on public transport, opening shops and shopping malls and allowing all
activities to be conducted in compliance with strict hygiene rules. A
notification was issued by the Cabinet Division on Tuesday (July 13) relaxing
the restrictions from midnight on July 14 to 8 am on July 23.
At the same
time, strict restrictions have been imposed again from 6 am on July 23 to midnight on August 5. The holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival
of Muslims in the country, will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 21.
