A court
today banned five persons from leaving the country, including Sonia Mehzabin,
the owner of the e-commerce portal e-Orange, and her spouse Masukur Rahman.
After the
hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury issued the order.
Amanullah,
Bithi Akter, and Kawsar Ahmed are among the others who have been banned from
traveling overseas.
Sonia and
her husband were sentenced to prison on Tuesday after they appeared in court.
Earlier, on
behalf of the aggrieved customers, Md Taherul Islam filed a case against five
people, including the owners, with Gulshan Police Station accusing them of
embezzling around Tk1,100 crore.
The case was
filed on Monday night following a protest of hundreds of e-Orange customers in
front of Gulshan Police Station.
