7 Crore People Will Be Vaccinated by December: Health Min

Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that 70 million people in the country will be vaccinated against coronavirus by next December.

He said, “We have planned to administrate more vaccines in villages as the rate of corona infection has increased in rural areas. Because the villagers have received fewer vaccines. We will vaccinate them first.”

He was speaking as the chief guest at the National Mourning Day function organized by the district BCL at Shaheed Miraj Tapan Stadium in Manikganj on Saturday (August 28) at 3.30 pm.

The minister called on all to be patient and said, "The elderly persons have to be vaccinated first." They need to be protected. Then we will all get vaccinated in phases. We have already been able to vaccinate 2.5 crore.

Zahid Maleque said, "I have talked to the Prime Minister. He said that 170 million people of the country will be brought under the corona vaccine in phases as much as possible.

"No matter how vaccinated we are, we have to wear masks and maintain social distance," he said.

Starting with a lab for corona testing, 750 labs have now been set up in the country. Besides, central oxygen has been provided to 110 hospitals in the country.

The minister said, "The government is providing various assistance including financial assistance to the people and various sectors affected in Corona." Neighboring India has been hit hard by the Corona. Hundreds of people are dying due to lack of oxygen. On the other hand, no such incident has taken place in Bangladesh. In addition, the developed countries have also been severely affected by the pandemic. In this case, the economy of Bangladesh has not been adversely affected, the wheel of the economy is in motion.
