The Ministry of Health has scraped 2,839 posts of medical technologists, technicians and cardiographers on allegations of corruption.

This was stated in a letter signed by Anjuman Ara, Deputy Secretary, Health Services Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday. However, the news came in the media on Tuesday.

The letter said the health department had set up a committee to investigate allegations of corruption in the recruitment of medical technologists, medical technicians and cardiographers under the health department. In the light of the investigation report submitted by the committee, the health minister has given instructions to recruit manpower for the three posts under the department.

It has been said that due to the ambiguity found in the written examination paper, the recruitment activities should be canceled and new appointments should be made with short notice. Those who have applied before do not need a new application. They will be able to take part in the new recruitment test.

According to the notification, the recruitment authority for the third class employees under the Health Directorate as per the rules is the Director-General of the DGHS. In this situation, it was requested to take necessary steps as per the instructions of the Minister for the recruitment of manpower in the posts of Medical Technologist, Medical Technician and Cardiographer under the Department.
