Mother, Daughter Killed in Magura Road Accident

A woman and her seven-month-old daughter were killed in a collision between a truck and a battery-run rickshaw van on Arpara-Bunagati road in Junari junction area under Shalikha Upazila of the district today, reports BSS.

The deceased were identified as Sharifa Begum, 30, wife of Ibadul Fakir of Pulum village under Shalikha Upazila of the district, and her daughter Khadija. 

The accident occurred in the area when Sharifa along with her daughter was going to Sadar Arpara Bazar by a rickshaw van, the truck coming from the opposite direction hit their vehicle around 11.30am, leaving two dead on the spot, said Tarak Biswas, officer-in-charge of Shalikha police station.

Police seized the truck and detained its driver, the OC added.

A case was filed in this connection.
