A mild tremor shook Dhaka and other parts of the country in the early hours of Friday.
The earthquake, which was moderate in category in its origin, was felt around 12:30 am, reports media.
The epicentre of the 5.5-magnitude quake was in Myanmar, according to the US Geological Survey.
The quake was at a depth of 110km, it said.
However, there is no immediate report of any damage or casualty because of the tremor in Bangladesh.
The distance of the epicentre was 477km southeast of BMD Seismic Centre in Agargaon, Dhaka, a meteorologist said.
