'Police in Sheikh Hasina's Tenure More People-Friendly than Anytime Before'

Commenting that the police have now become friends of the people, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, "The police of 10 years ago and the police in the tenure of Sheikh Hasina are not one." Earlier the police stood against the people, now the police extend their hand for the cooperation of the people.

He made the remarks after inaugurating the newly constructed building of Juri Police Station in Moulvibazar on Saturday (October 9).

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, "Those who are committing cybercrimes abroad, action will be taken against them according to the domestic law."

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Mohammad Shahab Uddin, Moulvibazar-3 MP Nesar Ahmed, reserved women's MP Syeda Johura Alauddin, Sylhet Range DIG Mofiz Uddin Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan and District Council Chairman Misbahur Rahman etc were present there.

"So far we have seen militancy, terrorism, arson," he said. However, the police have dealt with their skills. We are working one after another to increase the efficiency and capability of the police force. We are doing whatever the police need.

It may be mentioned that the construction work of the new building of Juri police station started in 2016 at a cost of Tk 7 crore 31 lakh 44 thousand 350. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan laid the foundation stone of the six-storey modern building.
