Prof. Dr. ABM Khurshid Alam, Director General of the Health Directorate, said that the inoculation program for the school-bound children will be started within this week. Students will be vaccinated through their respective schools.

He said corona vaccination for children aged 12 to 17 will be started simultaneously in 21 districts across the country.

Prof. Dr. ABM Khurshid Alam made the remarks to the journalists after a program on Tuesday (October 12) at noon.

The director-general said children would be vaccinated within this week. Their registration process will be completed through educational institutions. And a separate vaccination center will be set up for them.

He said that the issue of vaccination of children and adolescents has not come up yet due to various reasons. The main reason for this is that so far the World Health Organization (WHO) has not approved it. However, the health minister recently visited Geneva and spoke with the WHO DG. They have agreed to this. Pfizer vaccines are being given in different countries. With that in mind, we will give the same vaccine to the youngster.

Additional Director General of the Department of Health Dr Nasima Sultana, Director of the Department (Administration) Professor Dr Shamsul Islam and others were present at the time.
