Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal says that Iqbal
Hossain, who is identified as the person who kept the Holy Quran in the puja
mandapa in Cumilla, is not using his mobile phone.
He said, "He (Iqbal) is not using any mobile. It is possible
that those who sent him could hide him. We have tried our best to find him."
The Home Minister was responding to a question from
reporters after a meeting of the National Committee on Coordination, Management
and Law Enforcement of Myanmar’s Forcibly Displaced Persons (Rohingya) at the
Secretariat on Thursday (October 21).
The Home Minister said, "The target of Cumilla - I have
already said that we are sure, we have identified the person who did it through
our camera." The mosque with the shrine is a very famous mosque. It was
seen that he went to that mosque around 3 pm."
He said, "There were two khadems of the mosque standing
there, he (Iqbal) was talking to them. Our experienced team has long been sure
to analyze it. This man (Iqbal) has brought the Qur'an from the mosque, that is
his deed. You have seen the scene. Then he left the Quran in the lap of the
Idol and took the Gada."
The Home Minister said, "This man (Iqbal), under whose
persuasion, under whose direction did the work according to plan/" He has
completed this task in two or three visits. So we still don't think it was
without anyone's persuasion. We believe that if we can catch him, we will be
able to rescue the rest."
