DMP Arrests 142 for Consuming, Selling Drug

The Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 142 persons for consuming and selling drugs in the capital city, reports BSS.

According to a DMP statement issued today, the police raided different areas under various police stations and detained 142 drug abusers and recovered drugs from their possession from 6 am on November 4, 2021 to 6 am till Friday.

During the anti-drug campaign, police seized 592 grams and 520 puria (small packet) of heroin, 22.835 kilograms and 45 puria (small packet) of cannabis,19,024 pieces of yaba tablets and 38 injections from them, it said.

Police filed 107 cases against the arrestees in this connection with police stations concerned under the Narcotics Control Act.
