Child Dies after Falling off Moving Bus: Driver-Helper Arrested

RAB has arrested a bus driver and a helper for killing a child by dropping her off a moving bus at Bhatara in the capital.

Raju, a bus driver of Raida Paribahan, and his assistant Imran were arrested from Tongi and Abdullapur on Saturday (November 13th) morning at a briefing at the RAB Media Center in Karwanbazar. The bus was also seized. During the preliminary interrogation, the detainees confessed to forcing the child Maryam to get off the bus, RAB said.

Analysis of CCTV footage found evidence of Maryam falling from a Raida bus. The initial inquest report showed no signs of injuries on the victim's body. But there were signs of bleeding from the child's mouth, RAB said.

RAB Director (Media Wing) Commander Khandaker Al Moin said the bus driver was Raju who was 25 years old. And the helper was Imran, he was 33 years old. We were able to arrest two of them from Tongi and Abdullapur.

It may be mentioned that the child was dropped from the Raida bus in Pragati Sarani area of ​​the capital at 8:30 am on Tuesday. Pedestrians rescued the injured child and took her to Kurmitola General Hospital. The doctor declared the child dead. Later the body was taken to the spot again. It is learned that there was no one on the bus except the driver and helper when the child was dropped off.
