The
High Court has directed to submit the report of the inquiry committee of the
ministry regarding the audio clip of Kamrun Nahar, principal of Viqarunnisa Noon
School and College, by January 31.
A
High Court division bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice
Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman passed the order on Tuesday (November 30).
Lawyer
Mohammad Abdullah Al Harun Bhuiyan was in favor of the writ petition in the
court. Deputy Attorney General Bipul Bagmar represented the state. Lawyer
Mushfiqur Uddin Bakhtiyar was in favor of Viqarunnisa's principal.
Mohammad
Morshed Alam, guardian of two students of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College,
filed the writ petition. The High Court then adjourned the hearing to find out
what action the ministry had taken.
The
writ petition seeks to know why the failure and inaction of the respondents
would not be illegal and why the departmental system should not be directed to
start its activities as the departmental system has not been started to
investigate the malpractices and corruption of the principal of Viqarunnisa Noon
School and College.
A
writ petition has been filed seeking restraint of a senior teacher from acting
as principal while the rule is under consideration.
Several
media reports have been added to the petition. Reports highlighted a phone call
from the principal.
The
writ petition has named the education secretary, director general of the
education department, Principal Kamrun Nahar and the chairman of the governing
body as defendants.
