3 Resorts Reduced to Ashes in Fire at Sajek Valley

Three resorts, a restaurant and a house were set on fire in the Sajek Valley, a picturesque tourist destination in Rangamati. The incident took place around 3:30 pm on Wednesday (December 1).

The Dighinala Fire Service was able to bring the fire under control in the early hours of Thursday (December 2) after a two-hour effort in collaboration with the army and locals.

Nasir Uddin Pintu, owner of the Chilekotha restaurant, said that a terrible fire broke out in Sajek around 3:30 pm. The fire started from the ground floor of the Obokash resort. Within moments, three resorts and a living room were reduced to ashes.

Baghaichhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shariful Islam said three resorts, a restaurant and a house were gutted in the midnight fire. The fire was brought under control by Dighinala Fire Service in collaboration with law enforcement and locals.
