Kuet Teacher’s Death: Wife Seeks Protection from Threats

Prof Md Selim Hossain's wife, who claims to have received threats from unknown callers, has sought protection for herself and her six-year-old daughter at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET).

Sabina Khatun Rikta made the request while attending a virtual memorial service for Prof Selim held by the Kuet Teachers' Association on Sunday.

She sobbed, pleading with the university administration to take an active part in taking legal action.

Talking to the media, Sabina said several unknown people had threatened her over the phone from different numbers as well as via the Imo app while claiming to be police or Kuet authorities.

KUET suspended nine of its students on Saturday for breaking the university's code of conduct. Most of them are Chhatra League leaders and activists.

Meanwhile, Chhatra League leaders refuted the allegations of torture over appointing a dining manager of Lalan Shah Hall.
