Rain to Continue throughout the Day, Suffering in Capital

Cyclone Jawad weakened from a deep depression to low pressure and moved further along the coast. As low pressure, it may cross the Odisha coast of India at midnight on Monday (December 6).

As a result, rains along with strong winds have continued in different parts of the country including coastal areas. It has been raining intermittently in the capital from Sunday morning (December 5) till this morning.  

However, it has started raining profusely since morning. There was 44 mm of rain from yesterday till today till 8 am. Meanwhile, people are suffering due to traffic crisis and water logging on the roads.

Meteorologist Mohammad Omar Farooq said the depression had weakened further. Although it is a little less in the northern part of the country, it will rain all day today. The sky will be clear in most parts of the country from tomorrow. As a result, the temperature may drop and the feeling of winter may increase.

According to the Meteorological Department, the average average speed of the wind is 50 kilometers per hour within 48 kilometers of the center of the deep depression. Gusts and gusts of wind are increasing up to 60 kms. All the seaports of the country have been placed under remote warning signal number 3.

Boats and fishing boats at sea have been asked to stay safe on the coast.

According to the forecast for the inland river ports of the country till 1 pm today, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Tangail, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Cox's Bazar areas. It can cause temporary gusts of wind with rain or thunderstorms at speeds of up to 45 to 60 kmph from the south or south-east.

River ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.

According to the weather forecast for the current month, another depression may form in the Bay of Bengal this month. However, it is less likely to come to the coast of Bangladesh. One cold spell may occur in the middle of the month and another towards the end.

After the rains have stopped, cold winds will start blowing through the northern part of the country. Light to moderate fog may fall in the riparian areas.
