A
student of Dhaka University has lodged a complaint with Shahbagh Police Station
against Dr Murad Hasan, who has just resigned from the post of State Minister
for Information. Police have started an investigation into the allegations.
Shahbagh
Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moudud Hawlader confirmed the matter to media on
Tuesday night (December 7).
"We
have made a GD on the basis of the allegations," he said. It will then be
sent to the Cyber Crime Investigation Division.
According
to the OC, Murad made sarcastic remarks about female students of Dhaka
University and insulted the university. University student Julius Caesar Talukdar
has lodged a complaint with the police station.
According
to the indictment, former Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting
Murad Hassan came to a live event on a Facebook page called NahidRaines
Pictures and made provocative remarks. Caesar Talukder described the statement
as "perverted and hateful".
Caesar
alleged that Murad Hassan had deliberately neglected Dhaka University, the
oldest and most traditional university in the country, and had made dirty
remarks about female students of the university's Rokeya Hall and Shamsunnahar
Hall.
