Hasan Foez Siddique has
been appointed as the Chief Justice of Bangladesh. Syed Mahmud Hossain was
replaced by this appellate division judge.

Hamid on Thursday (December 30) appointed Hasan Foez Siddique as the new head
of the judiciary following the retirement of Syed Mahmud Hossain.

Secretary Mohammad Joynal Abedin confirmed the news to the media.
An official of Bangabhaban
said that Justice Hasan Foez Siddique will take oath from the President at Bangabhaban
on Friday afternoon.
Hasan Foez Siddique, 65,
is set to become the country's 23rd chief justice.
