The government has
imposed new restrictions on dealing with a new variant of coronavirus, Omicron.
The restrictions have been taken into effect on Thursday (January 13). At this
time everyone has to follow the 11 point instructions.
A notification to
this effect was issued by the Cabinet Division on Monday (January 10)
afternoon.
The notification
said that according to the decision taken at the meeting to review the outbreak
of new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) Omicron and the contagious situation of
the disease in the country.
The 11 guidelines
that must be followed during the restrictions:
- It is compulsory
for everyone to wear a mask in all public places including shops, shopping malls
and markets and hotels and restaurants. Otherwise he/she will have to face
legal punishment.
- Masks must be used
outside the office and court. Mobile courts should be set up across the country
to prevent deviations in compliance with hygiene rules.
- Covid-19 Vaccine
Certificate must be shown in order to sit in a restaurant and stay in a
residential hotel.
- All students above
the age of 12 years will not be allowed to enter the educational institution
without the vaccination certificate after the date fixed by the Ministry of
Education.
- The number of
screenings at land ports, seaports and airports should be increased. Crew must
be banned from entering the ports. Even at land ports, only the driver can stay
with the incoming truck. No assistant can come. Visitors accompanying
foreigners must stop entering the airport.
- Trains, buses and
launches can carry half the capacity of passengers. The concerned authorities
will issue specific instructions in this regard along with the date of implementation.
Drivers and assistants of all types of vehicles must be certified with the
Covid-19 vaccine.
- All, including
passengers from abroad must show compulsory Covid-19 vaccine certificate.
- Imams will warn
the people concerned about the observance of hygiene rules and wearing masks in
the sermons of Jumu'ah prayers in all mosques.
- The Ministry of
Health and Family Welfare will take necessary publicity and initiatives to expedite
public coronary vaccination and booster doses. In this case, they will take the
help of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
- The open space
should be closed for social, political, religious ceremonies and post-assembly
instructions.
- In case of any
special situation in any area, the local administration will be able to take
action in consultation with the concerned.
Meanwhile, Health
and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque has said that if anyone does not
abide by the restrictions, he/she will be fined by the mobile court and may
even go to jail.
